Console gamers looking to create a stress-free desktop setup should check out the VX2Aimbox from GameSir. The VX2 Aimbox is a multi-console mouse and keyboard adapter to give console gamers a PC gaming-like experience.

The VX2 Aimbox is a small, black adapter that doesn’t take up much space on the desk. The Aimbox is essentially a plug and play device for connecting a keyboard and mouse to the console. The adapter supports both a wired and wireless mouse and keyboard. The USB ports are also reversible to provide flexibility.

When plugged in, the top of the adapter lights up. The colors can be customized within the GameSir app. The GameSir app also allows for the customization of joysticks, controllers, keybinds and more.

It allows for seamless mouse and keyboard console gameplay for FPS games. And, although it is compatible with all consoles, it’s not recommended for to get solely for the PS5. The PS5 still has limited game selection where it’s compatible with the Aimbox adapter. Unsupported games for the VX2 Aimbox include Call of Duty: Vanguard and Fortnite.

The adapter comes with a 3.5mm audio jack to connect your headset, which is an upgrade from the original. Unfortunately, the audio jack doesn’t work well with the PS5.

Concerns About VX2 Aimbox

My biggest concern about using GameSir’s VX2 Aimbox Console Adapter is the risk of cheating. Many gamers play use both PC and console and may prefer to use a mouse and keyboard. I wouldn’t use the adapter for competitive games, however.

Another concern is the compatibility of the PS5 console. Though Aimbox says it is compatible with PS5, there are too many inconsistencies to the contrary.

Final Thoughts

The VX2 adds an extra layer of fun and challenge for console gamers. Though it works well, it works better with FPS games than real time strategy or MMOs. However, it may be too risky to use. If you’re not worried about the risks of cheating and just want to improve your mouse and keyboard skills, then the VX2 Aimbox is for you.
